Juli Briskman is very much an advocate for an America without Donald Trump as president but she has learned the hard way that flipping him the bird is not the best use of her time.
Last month, while cycling on a road in northern Virginia she was passed by none only but the presidential motorcade and flipped it the bird, which was caught on camera.
She states that she did not set out to flip the prez the bird, but did state that she is frustrated by the job he has done and the values he stands for.
“Here’s what was going through my head that day: ‘Really? You’re golfing again?’ ” Briskman said.
A marketing exec for Akima, the 50 year old was honest and notified her bosses when the picture of her went viral, at which time they fired her.
She is obviously very upset over losing her job, and claims that she was not on work hours at the time of the incident and that her actions had nothing to do with the company she works for.
“I wasn’t even at work when I did that,” Briskman said. “But they told me I violated the code of conduct policy.”
According to Briskman, her bosses informed her that her actions went against their code of conduct, which entitled them to fire her on the spot.
“Covered Social Media Activity that contains discriminatory, obscene malicious or threatening content, is knowingly false, create [sic] a hostile work environment, or similar inappropriate or unlawful conduct will not be tolerated and will be subject to discipline up to an [sic] including termination of employment.”
Briskman is not going down without a fight and has contacted the American Civil Liberties Union to see what her options are.
