Ford has figured out how to beat yours Rough off-road, but still keep it looking good.
The extreme Bronco Badlands Sasquatch The 2-door concept was built to showcase the versatility of the upcoming SUV along with some new parts.
Among them is a set of fenders designed to easily replace body panels when you plan to walk on a densely rocky or wooded path.
They are aluminum on the concept car, but Ford said the idea is to make them out of impact-resistant composite. That Rough has a modular design with a few dozen easily removable bolts that hold the fenders in place, so it should not take too long to replace them.
Off-road fenders avoid the detachable flares that come from the factory. Ford also replaced the doors on the concept with step-over frames based on the design of the original Bronco U13 Roadster from 1966.
The smart parts have not been confirmed for production, but Ford will have more than 200 accessories ready for use when deliveries of the Bronco begin in June next year.
