Miami, Florida – A high-speed chase involving a stolen Ford cargo van on Interstate 95 resulted in a crash and subsequent arrest on Tuesday in Miami-Dade. Florida Highway Patrol officials reported that the incident unfolded when troopers attempted to stop the van on the southbound lane of I-95, near Northwest 79th Street.
Defying orders to stop, the driver of the stolen van accelerated away, leading to a chase. In a strategic move to end the pursuit, troopers executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (P.I.T.) maneuver near State Road 112. Their maneuver caused the van to crash, bringing the high-speed chase to an end.
The driver made an attempt to flee the scene of the accident on foot, but authorities quickly placed him under arrest. As of the latest reports, officials have not disclosed the identity of the driver or the specific charges they face.
