Drive by shooting incident in Jacksonville leaves woman with non-life-threatening injuries; investigation ongoing

Jacksonville, Florida – An unidentified suspect shot a woman twice during a late-night incident at Jacksonville’s Yancey Park, according to reports from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The incident that left the victim with non-life-threatening injuries took place around 10 p.m.

The authorities responded to the crime scene at 3352 Soutel Drive, where they discovered a woman in her late twenties suffering from two gunshot wounds.

Initial reports provided by the police reveal the incident started when the victim and a male companion were sitting stationary in their car. Without any provocation, a suspect driving by their vehicle fired multiple shots at their vehicle, hitting the woman twice.

As of this moment, the Sheriff’s Office has not identified a motive for this unjustified act of violence or released any suspect information. However, an active investigation is in progress, with detectives collecting the necessary evidence.
