Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office SUV involved in multi-vehicle crash, minor injuries reported

Jacksonville, Florida – A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) SUV was involved in a collision at the intersection of Philips Highway and Emerson Street on Thursday evening.

Details of the Crash

The crash occurred at approximately 6:16 p.m., as reported by the JSO. An officer, responding to another crash involving injuries, was traveling in the JSO SUV. As the officer headed east on Emerson Street and slowed at the intersection, a dark-colored, mid-sized SUV traveling northbound on Philips Highway failed to yield. Despite the officer’s SUV having its emergency lights activated, the dark-colored SUV collided with the passenger side of the JSO vehicle.

The impact of the crash was significant enough to push the JSO SUV into another vehicle that was stopped in the westbound lanes of Emerson Street. Following the collision, both the officer and the driver of the dark-colored SUV were transported to the hospital. Fortunately, their injuries were reported as minor.
